What is Tarot?

Starting at the very beginning, a Tarot deck is made up of 78 cards. There are three kinds or groups of cards, the 22 Major Arcana, the 40 Minor Arcana, and the 16 Court Cards. The Major Arcana cards depict familiar archetypal images, and represent our journey through life. They deal with big life questions, spiritual growth, areas of our lives where forces greater than ourselves may be involved. The Minor Arcana depict more everyday situations, and can show us what’s going on in our lives and what energies are surrounding and affecting us. The Court Cards represent people and personalities, both of others and within ourselves, and sometimes events in our lives.

Why would I want a Tarot Reading?

As a Tarot reader, I don’t believe that our fates are set in stone. Of course, there are some aspects of our lives that we simply can’t change, but we can direct our course by the decisions that we make and the actions that we take. The Tarot is a powerful tool in this respect. The cards can show you what your future may be like as a result of your decisions, your current actions and attitudes, and how you react to the energies around you, not because we are bound by fate. If you want to refine or change the direction you are going, the Tarot can help you to identify the areas of your life that you need to focus on. Tarot readings empower you, and can be an enjoyable and inspiring experience.

What happens during the session?

The reading starts with the seeker’s question. I find that Yes/No questions are the least illuminating, it’s better to ask something like, “What will happen if I…”, or “What do I need to know about…”. The question should be phrased so that the answer gives you guidance, options, and clarity. If you aren’t sure what you want to ask or how to ask it, the Tarot reader can help you form just the right question. Then, the reader shuffles the cards, concentrating on the energy of the seeker, and lays them out in a pattern or spread. The reader then interprets the story that the cards are telling, using a combination of knowledge, experience and intuition.

How can I get the most out of my Tarot Reading?

Try to have an idea of what you would like to ask the cards before you arrive for your reading. It can be very meaningful to simply ask the cards what you most need to know right now in general, but if you can come up with a more specific question, you will get a more specific answer. Also, don’t be afraid to engage with the cards and the reader during your Tarot reading. If a particular card or aspect of a card catches your eye, mention it. If you would like further clarification from the reader, ask. A collaborative approach to a reading leads to a much deeper experience.

What is an email reading and why would I want one?

There are benefits that are unique to readings done by email. Practically speaking, email readings are very easy to fit into your schedule. You don’t have to make an appointment or be at a certain place at a certain time, or find a free hour in your busy work day. Just email your question to me, I do a customized reading for you, and your answer appears right in your inbox. Also, some people (introverts like me) like to have the time to quietly formulate their question on their own, without any external pressures, and many people might not feel comfortable enough to discuss a private matter with a reader in person, but would be fine doing it by email. Finally, with an email reading you receive a document that you can refer to in the future, as often as you like, rather than relying on your memory of a live reading.

Is there anything I need to know before I book a reading?

Is there anyone you won't read for?

I won’t read for anyone under 18 years of age without a parent or guardian’s permission, or anyone who arrives intoxicated or otherwise impaired. Terms and conditions must be accepted at the time of booked appointment.

Where do you do your "In-Person private Readings?

At this time, due to the Global Pandemic (unless otherwise noted) I am not conducting any In-Person Private Readings.

Is my Tarot Reading Confidential?

Absolutely, both in person and email readings are 100% confidential. I will keep everything a client tells me and everything that is revealed in a reading confidential, unless the situation is possibly life-threatening.

How can I pay for a reading or a product?

You can pay quickly and easily on the Readings By Marvelous Madame Tarot website, using PayPal, Square and/or Stripe. All prices are in U.S. dollars. All manual readings booked by Readings By Marvelous Madame Tarot on behalf of a client will be accepted via $CASHAPP @ $marvelousmadame or VENMO @ Marvelous-Madame. Please DO NOT SEND MONEY WITHOUT A BOOKED APPOINTMENT, UNLESS IT IS A DONATION.

What are your lateness, cancellations, and refund policies for readings?

I DO NOT offer refunds for my services, for any reason. All PHONE AND VIDEO CHAT appointments have a 5 minute grace period. At your scheduled appointment time I will attempt to contact you via phone, or video chat a total of (2) times in 5 minutes. If for any reason, you do not answer the appointment will be automatically be "CANCELLED" and marked as a "NO SHOW". You will receive an email with your "reschedule certificate" at which point you will able to reschedule your appointment at a time more suitable for you. Appointments can be rescheduled at anytime, with the exception of 24 hours before hand. If you need to reschedule within 24 hours please contact ahead of time so that I may manaully rescheule the appointment on your behalf. Please shop mindfully. Are you available for private parties?

Yes! A Tarot reader adds fun and interactive entertainment to a private party, especially birthdays, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, girls’ nights out, and holidays like Halloween, New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day. Give your friends the chance to try something new, learn something about themselves, and have an experience they will remember! Readings By Marvelous Madame Tarot offers a flat hourly rate that can be paid by the party host, or an individual rate (dependent on length of reading) that can be paid by each guest. At this time, due to the Global Pandemic (unless otherwise noted) I will not be conducting any Private Parties.
